Very Odd Scoring!

How did orange man score this performance as a 4. Crazy!
I think the commentators on interactive saw it as I did. Gethin looks a real contender.

..and for those who want to know who was eliminated last night (tonight's show is recorded) will find it here.

Gethin Looks The Man.

As Sid Vicious once sang, "And may I say, not in a gay way"... Strictly Come Dancing is my favourite reality TV show of year.

Not convinced Sid would actually have been a fan but give me fit young women, wearing very little, being twirled and twirling (not sure that's the correct technical term) around the dance floor anytime over a cheap karaoke show. For the first time I will taking an interest in X-factor this year, but it's SCD that will be getting my juices flowing.

Talking of fit young women we certainly have a number on this years show. Obviously we have the professional female dancers, Erin (Miss Whiplash) and Ola being my personal favourites and also this year every school boys fantasy and also some who are old enough to know better, Kelly Brook.

Her pairing with 'bad boy' Brendan Cole has been hogging the Tabloid headline and it does look a hot pairing, but I shall be looking elsewhere for my main bet.

Women fill the first three places in the betting. The aforementioned Kelly heading the market with Gabby Logan and ex-girl band member Alesha Dixon pushing her close, but on past form a decent man will beat a decent woman in virtually all TV Reality shows. In the two just gone we've had Adele Silva, Marco's choice, massive soap star, witty, enthusiastic, full of fun and charm being beaten by Barry McGuigan who was a lovely guy, yes, but seemed to spend most of the two weeks mashing potatoes. I'm sure they were lovely and fluffy but is that enough to come out on top?. It seems so.

Prior to that we had the dreadful Brian beating not just one young woman but two in Big Brother, so for me it has to be a man.

So which man?. The one that stands out from a fairly average bunch is Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones.

A good looking guy (almost as good looking as myself at that age..lol) , a large fanbase of kids and their Mums, a good sportsman (he was rugby captain at his university and played in the Lancashire under 21 team), a high profile, popular partner in Camilla Dallerup (the blonde one) and from the short clips I've seen of him and Camilla dancing on Blue Peter he has the potential to go far in this competition. It certainly looks like he's starting from a higher base than two of her previous partners in Roger Black (5th) and the chef James Martin (4th)

9/1 with Victor Chandler looks good value to me. Hopefully it will look even better after tonight's show.

Also if you don't have an account with Victor Chandler I see they are offering to double your first bet on bets upto £50.

All odds here.

A full run down of the male runners and riders below. Women to follow later. As it should be ;)

.

The Men

Brian Capron - Ex- Corrie Mass murderer and people of a certain age will also remember him as one of the teachers in Grange Hill. Seems a thoroughly nice guy when I've seen him on various chat shows.

Dancing/Athletic ability - His age maybe against him but he looks very good for his 60 years and has just finished a run in the musical Guys and Dolls so I'm sure he won't be as dreadful as some of the other older contestants to have taken part.

Partner - The very popular Karen Hardy.
6th with Bill Turnbull and Won with Ramps last year.

Price 20/1. Looks about right.

Dominic Littlewood - Star of Daytime TV (is that an oxymoron?) and all round nice bloke, or short bald ugly bloke depending on your point of view.

Dancing/Athletic ability - Is partial to a spot of barefoot water-skiing, so should have good balance, as for his dancing, I'll let you judge with the following video....here.
He has something in my opinion, but not entirely sure what.

Partner - 'Lovely' Lilia Kopylova.
4th with Aled Jones, 2nd with Matt Dawson and Won with Darren Gough.

Price 33/1. Could do worse. An interesting outsider.

Gethin Jones - Blue Peter Presenter. Zoe Salmon and Konnie thingy both did well in Celebrity Fame Academy despite having truly awful voices so kids and even more so their Mums in Gethins case have already shown their willingness to pick up the phone and vote.

Dancing/Athletic ability - Captained his University at rugby so is obviously a sporty type and from the following short video clip it looks like he can move.
Video here.

Partner - Camilla Dallerup.
5th with Roger Black, 4th with James Martin, 8th with Ray Feron.
Could be her year?

Price 9/1. Looks a great bet.

John Barnes - Ex- Footballer and Pundit. With sportsmen having a great record in these shows he should have a good chance, but already bulky when he played football he's really piled on the pounds since finishing with the footie. Not convinced he'll look too elegant on the dance floor.

Dancing/Athletic ability - If he can show the same balance as he did when he danced around virtually the whole Brazilian side, to score one of the best goals I've ever seen from someone in a England shirt then he'd have a great chance, but see above. Offers of a Slimfast ad look more likely than a win here.
Great goal though......here.

Partner - Nicole 'who' Cutler.
To be fair she's not had great partners.
Last with Nicholas Owen, 7th with Diarmuid Gavin

Price 12/1.

Kenny Logan - Rugby player and husband of Gabby. Sportsman again. This one still in shape and seems a likeable guy from his appearances on Question of Sport.

Dancing/Athletic ability - International Rugby Player says it all when it comes to athletic ability, although he does play for Scotland...lol, could easily go one better than Matt Dawson and win, as another rugby player in Kyran Bracken did on Dancing on Ice.

Partner - The gorgeous Ola Jordan.
Last year was her first appearance on the show and she was obviously being pushed hard by the Producers only to make a shock early exit with DJ Spoony. I don't think they'll let the same thing happen this year.

Price 12/1. Looks a reasonable bet.

Matt Di Angelo - Him from Eastenders, apparently. Haven't watched since Den and Angie. Those were the days :) .
Bit of a heartthrob, so I'm told, but looks the sulky, arrogant type on the little I've seen of him.
Possibly backed up by this article 'Strictly' stars complain about Kelly 'fix'
He seems the only person complaining, or at least the only one quoted. Could throw the toys out of his pram if the judges criticise him too much, or at all.

Dancing/Athletic ability - No idea. Looks fit enough and these stage school types tend to have at least a little training in dance.

Partner - Flavia Cacace.
One appearance. Forced to withdraw with Jimmy Tarbuck.

Price 9/1. Not for me thanks.

Willie Thorne - Snooker player and famous for his appearances on Big Break with the odious Jim Davidson. Fortunately Willie has always struck me as being a rather more pleasant guy.

Dancing/ Athletic ability - On the latter, he was always a tubby guy and he still is, but even more so.
As for his dancing, I've no idea but he is of the age where men and women did tend to dance together rather than take lots of drugs and move in rather mysterious ways.
Time for Bez and some Happy Mondays.

Partner- Erin 'Miss whiplash' Boag
Very popular with a good record. 7th with Peter Schmeichel, 4th with Martin offiah and 2nd (would have one but for the blow-up dolls) with Collin Jackson.

Price 66/1.

.

The Women

With the women only doing a group dance tonight, I'll just do a quick summary for now.

The 1st 3 in the betting are all women so expectations are high.
Kelly Brook and Brendan Cole look a dream pairing, but will women vote for her?
Gabby Logan having represented Wales in the Commonwealth Games in Rhythmic Gymnastics obviously knows how to move as does ex Mis-Teeq singer Alesha Dixon.
Anton seemed very happy with GMTV presenter partner Kate Garraway during the preview show so must be in with a chance.
Of the others Penny Lancaster looks too tall to me and Letitia Dean too tubby and Stephanie Beacham too old.
OK not the greatest analysis, but the best I can do at the moment. :)

I do feel, as I've said previously, that men have a distinct advantage when it comes to the voting. It maybe 2-2 so far in SCD, but the two female winners (Jill Halfpenny and Natashia thingy) were far superior to their male counterparts.
Last year Louisa Lytton and Emma 'great thighs' Bunton were much better dancers than the wooden Matt Dawson and on a par with Ramps at times and yet neither made the final.

A decent guy will be a decent woman every time in this show. It will take one of the women to be exceptional or the men not to be upto much for a female winner.

It could happen, but I'll stick with Gethin and small bets on Kenny Logan and Dom for now.

Lee Ryan Leaves Hell's Kitchen

The favourite with some bookies has walked out after an argument with Marco.

Not much more info, but here's the latest.

With one of the favourite's walking, if you can still get 8/1 on Adele Silva at bet365 then I think she could be worth a small wager.
The Emmerdale Actress looks sure to have a big following from the soap, is quick witted, good humoured and seems to throw herself into anything she's asked to do with enthusiasm. Unlike the wet fish, Lee from Blue, who's thrown the towel in already.

Bet 365 prices here.

...and talking of throwing the towel in. As this diner found out. You don't mess with Marco.

It has to be said, the shirt was pretty shocking.

Hell's Kitchen Early Betting.

Skybet and Bet365 have opened a market on the show and both make Brian Dowling the early favourite. Top priced 3/1, Paul Young is 4/1 and Barry McGuigan 6/1

Slightly edging towards Paul Young now, he has form., He appeared in Celebrity Masterchef in 2006, winning his heat and then getting knocked out in the semis.

Skybet prices.

Bet365 prices.
.

Hell's Kitchen Starting Tonight.

Not sure if or when there will be a betting market up for it, alot is recorded , apparently, so I won't go into detail until we know we can have a bet on it...lol

Here are the contestants anyway.

BRIAN DOWLING - Winner of BB2
LEE RYAN - Ex-Blue Member
PAUL YOUNG - 80's Pop Star
BARRY MCGUIGAN - Ex-Boxer
JIM DAVIDSON - Comedian
ANNEKA RICE - TV Presenter
ABBEY CLANCEY - Model, G/f of Peter Crouch
ADELE SILVA - Emmerdale Actress
ROSIE BOYCOTT - Ex-Newspaper Editor
KELLY LEBROCK - Actress

More info on them here.

..and General info on the Show here.

Barry McGuigan stands out, as Sportmen have a good record in the shows where there is also a competeive element and not just a popularity contest....and he's a pretty nice bloke too.

More later, hopefully.

.

Final Thoughts On This Years BB

Hmmmm ...lol

More to follow when I've got my head round how Brian won.

I suspect the older viewers , the 30 + 's , either switching off or certainly not voting played a huge part in Brian's shock victory.

2.4 million votes throughout the whole series is truly dreadful, especially when you consider there were 5 million votes in the final alone a few years back.

Brian was the obvious choice for the Teens and pre-teens, with the pre-teens main exposure to Big Brother being BBLB or as it became known Big Brian's Little Brother, you can imagine 10'000's of kids up and down the country pestering their parents to vote for the hilarious in their eyes, Brian.
Most people I knew above the age of 20 had become bored of Brian's dimbo act a long time before the final, but if they didn't vote for anyone, as it seems they didn't, Brian could and of course did win mostly off the back of the kids votes.
Unless the older age group re-engage with the show and feel inspired enough to vote then we could see more "Brian's" win in the future.

From a betting point of view, although Brian was my worst result, I still won a small amount on the win market, but most of my profit came from the evictions. The 1st few and the last three. Gerry, Tracey and Jonty.

I didn't get round to posting my thoughts on the last 3 evictions on here, too busy on betfair. Talking of which, thanks to all the regulars on betfair for making the 13 weeks a generally enjoyable experience. The banter was great.
A few name checks.
Kitten (L) , Missnikki (L) , MissP (L) ...and thanks for all the info :) , MrsSmurfy...for the nice prices ;) , Lori, Pakey, aa, Ricky, DD, sadako, I da Boss, Journeyman, Coddie, Fluffs, layz, redbag, O&S, bunnyman, Laughing Gravy ....who had the last laugh, I guess....and finally AVFC :p Though he was a pain at times, It was mostly light-hearted, I think.
Hope I haven't missed too many.
On to the X-factor

So That's All Clear Then.

After all the rumours of multiple evictions with up to four HM's leaving this week, it turns out that just the one will be leaving.....and in what is described as HUGE Twist, the Three Guru's (Ziggy, Twinners and Tracey) will decide out of the two with the most votes, who actually leaves the Big Brother House.

Haven't we seen a HUGE twist like this before, when the other HM's had to choose between Makosi and Venassa? I think we did. I say give them all a pay rise at Endemol.
It must have taken them hours of brain storming and the like to come up with this HUGE twist.

Oh, and from the latest press release it looks like a vote to Evict.....so I've starting a new poll to see who goes this week. Not that last weeks one was very accurate, in fact it was pants.
Can we all try to do better this week please.

More details of the HUGE twist here.

Youtube Update.

The latest offering from The Boss on youtube. (It's not me by the way...lol)

Warning! This video contains language and images that some people may find offensive. ....and music.

The Twins Are One.

Was it a strange premonition leaving Sam out of my poll. I doubt it, but from now on a vote for one Twin is a vote for the other.
They came squealing out of the DR just after midnight with the news that they are now counted as one entity.
They both win together or are evicted together.
They are also both up for eviction this week in return for this change in their status.

Full story here.

Could be an interesting challenge to Brian's status as favourite. All the polls I've seen would have The Twins leading if you combined the votes for Sam and Amanda.

It's certainly sent shockwaves through the market.

Top Female (update)

Just to say that Amy is available @ 25/1 with Corals.

Cracking bet IMO. Certainly showing signs that she's made some sort of impact, albeit small at the moment, in the early polls.

With coming in so late it's all about coverage if she wants to gain that 10-15% that it should take in the final vote to see her finish as Top Female.

She certainly has two 'storylines ' going on. Her relationship with Liam and the constant sniping at her by the deeply unpleasant and most unpopular Big Brother Housemate left, Carole.

Obviously she has to make the final...and that's far from certain , but 25/1 looks too big to me.

Corals market here.

AMY-able

An amiable personality and because of that and her being unfairly picked on by the hate filled Carole and Tracey, plus her obvious connection with Liam, I believe she's able to make a real impact in the house and walk away with Top Female in this years Big Brother and trade significantly lower in the winners market.

She may be a bit of a player. She's an intelligent, savvy young woman and would be stupid not use the knowledge she's gained from watching the show to endear herself to the favourite HM's. As long as she does this by using her obvious charms (obvious to me anyway) and not by bitching about the less popular HM's, then I can only see this as a good thing.

She already has a connection with liam (don't be fooled by the HL's...there's still something there between them)
She's also won over The Twins, Brian and Gerry. These were the top 5 in the betting when she entered the house. Seems a very smart move to me....and all without slagging anyone off....except one comment about feeling slightly uncomfortable around Jonty. Clearly she no longer feels like this. Jonty really likes her as shown when he was defending her against yet another attack from the vile one.

I don't care how many dirty pics people have managed to find of her . There were plenty of Aisleyne, some very dodgy ones in a school uniform as I remember..that didn't affect her popularity.....and I'm not bothered about her throw away comment about what she might do for £600 (Leah would have done a lot more for £6). That will all be forgotten about in a few days. Probably tonight....if it's not shown.

Some people say she's cold. Well I found Aisleyne one of the coldest most manipulative and soulless HM's ever, but it didn't stop her getting Top Female......also after being isolated when she 1st entered the house.

Amy has a much warmer personality and is guaranteed to get plenty of coverage and hence has the opportunity to make a real impact.

She was 18/1 to be Top Female, but they may have gone. Any price of 10/1 or over is still worth a bet. Shop around. Currently around 12/1 on betfair.

The Twist Explained (sort of)

So David and Kara have moved into the main Bog Brother House and Ziggy in a courageous and selfless act ( no sarcasm, honest) moved the other way.

So what happens next. Well the following makes it slightly clearer. Big Brother gathered the HM's on the sofas this afternoon and announced -

"This is Big Brother.
Housemates and Halfway Housemates listen very, very carefully.
This week some difficult decisions will be made.
The consequences of these decisions will be good for some of you and bad for others. "

"This week, there will be 2 more opportunities for Halfway Housemates to win full Housemate status and move into the Main Big Brother House. There is also a chance that some Housemates will move the other way and become Halfway Housemates. In two days time, everyone living in the Halfway House will face the public vote."

As we leave the shocked housemates realising that nobody's position is safe, stay tuned for further details...

So that's a little clearer then.
From a betting point of view it seems the public will have the final say, so the favourites are all safe. So like most twists, all rather tame and pointless.

Anyway, here's details of the first task.

Enjoy!

Chanelle Has Left The House (Atlast)

After leaving three times yesterday and the returning she has atlast left the building.
Just stayed long enough for all those who backed no Walkout last week on Betfair to make a tidy profit.

Full details here ...not of all the winners on the walkout market. Don't panic..lol

Friday, 27 July 2007

Wow! What a Twist!

This could really shake the market up if true.

http://www.bigbrotheronline.co.uk/bigbrother8/latest/wk8/52.htm

So atleast two of the new entrants will become full Housemates, probably more. Plus the danger of losing a couple of the current ones. Possibly one of the favourites.

Tonight's Five New Entrants

Yes, only 5 now going in to the Big Brother House tonight. One's dropped out apparently.....but according to a press release these are the five -

DAVID PARNABY, 25, from Ayr Store manager David is an "open-minded practising pagan". His first love is nature and his second is fashion. He wants to win.

SHANESSA REILLY, 27, from Cardiff. Part-time care assistant Shanessa calls her daughter "mini-me" and says her dream job would be to work as a bunny girl at the Playboy mansion. Spends £600 a month on hair extensions. Will be nominated because "they think I'm a slapper or stupid".

KARA-LOUISE HORNE, 22, from Harrow Student Kara-Louise claims she's "extremely gorgeous and exceedingly bright". A pal thinks she looks like Mariah Carey "only much fitter". Privately-educated, has issues with "common people". Wants to work in PR.

JONTY STERN, 36, from London. Vegetarian museum assistant Jonty collects teddy bears (he has 50) and old coins. Read welsh studies at uni. Ran the Doctor Who Society. Speaks Welsh, French, German, Yiddish, Hebrew, Albanian and Cornish.

AMY ALEXANDRA, 21, from: Lincolnshire Amy is a glamour model and ex-shelf-stacker who idolises Jordan. Has two horses, Velvet and Arken. She wants to be on Big Brother to make a name for herself. Teetotal

The 2 blokes look interesting and some nice eye candy for the guys and the tabloids.

Charley & Tracey Up For Eviction

So Charleys time is up, unfortunately. I'll miss her....but I'm obviously in a minority.

The ferrets "prediction" (she's never been wrong before) ...here

Sunday, 22 July 2007

6th Eviction.

Just a quick word on the next Big Brother Eviction. Only 4 hours or so to go before betfair close their market and if I'm honest I suspect Charleys time is up this week.
There have been rumours of a positive vote which could save her, but if it's the usual vote to evict and she's up then she's gone.
So will Charley be up. Almost certainly.
If she's not and it's a big IF, then with all the polls showing Ziggy as the 2nd least liked Housemate and him looking likely to be up, then at around 25/1 and higher on betfair he looks a pretty good outside bet.

Latest Ramblings of a Madman

...with a special appearance from someone called five leaves. Not sure who he is, but he certainly looks very familiar.

As mad as Betfair/I Da Boss is, I have to agree with the general thrust of his video. Not thrust in any pervy sense of the word, but that Brian looks all over the winner at the moment, Chanelle has little chance and Charley has become one of the greatest Big Brother Housemates ever.
I wouldn't write her off just yet in the Top Female Market. If she can somehow avoid being up for the public vote and sneak into the final, she should get more positive votes than any of the other female Housemates.

Just a quick hello to my great friend Dr E and her long time companion Dr Dud. I'm not sure whether Dud knows this five leaves character. I very much doubt it. He looks like total riff raff to me. Thought his impressions were rather good though.

On the subject of talent, or lack of it, please feel free to cast your votes in my latest poll.

Nicky v Gerry

The ferret has spoken and these are the two up for Eviction. Link here.

The early polls have Nicky 75%, Gerry 25%.
So it looks like Nicky will be going barring a miracle.

Sunday, 15 July 2007

5th Eviction.

The Housemates are nominated now for next weeks Big Brother Eviction.
The big question is can Charley manage to escape again. Well she's played a blinder from what I've seen since her fake eviction last Friday.
The crowd were apparently all holding up big pictures of her and banners with "We Love You Charley". I must have missed this, but luckily most of the Housemates appear to have bought in to her blatant spinning of events. A job with New Labour could await her when she eventually emerges from the house, but hopefully not for a few weeks yet.
My main bet this week is Chanelle at around 20/1 on betfair
There are plenty of likely nominators. Charley, Nicky, Tracey and Carole being the main candidates, with Brian and Liam less likely but still possible. Surely the Housmates must have become bored by now of her tiresome on, off, on , off, on, off 'relationship' with Ziggy. As a viewer I certainly have.
I also feel Ziggy and especially Gerry have a good chance of being up, but at the price Chanelle looks the best bet.

My Early Tip For X-Factor

A great tribute to a great Big Brother Housemate.

Tuesday, 10 July 2007

It's Charley v Nicky

According to Nikki T on DS these two will go head to head in the fake eviction. Link here
She's be bang on the last couple of weeks with her 'predictions'

Charley is up in the one week she can't go...LOL

Unfortunately no payday this week :(

The 5th / Fake Eviction.

Not sure whether this week is a tribute to the wonderful Aisleyne from BB7 (Not a hint of sarcasm, honest), but as I'm sure everyone knows, this is fake week.
We have a fake Housemate in 'Pauline' ( video below) and a fake eviction on Friday.
'Pauline' may look rather cute, but she ain't going to make us any money, so let's move swiftly onto the Eviction.
Whoever's chosen by the public to be 'evicted' will have the usual interview with Davina only to return to the House immediately afterwards to face the remaining inmates who have watched the whole thing on the plasma screen.
Could it be Charley at last. Quite possibly, but as Laura (cheers) said on BBLB she's slagged off every other HM to their faces, so it wouldn't make great TV to see her do it all again in her interview with Davina.
What would make good TV is to see Ziggy being interrogated by Davina ( Not a hint of sarcasm, honest) about his 'relationship' with Chanelle.
So could he receive enough nominations to be up for the public vote. Well Tracey and Nicky nominated him last week and look likely to again. Other possible nominators are Charley, Brian and maybe Liam.
3 or 4 votes would probably be enough.
Betfair unfortunately don't have a market up this week (ridiculous decision), but Paddy Power have eventually put up a market and Ziggy is currently at 20/1
Be warned though. They only allowed me the grand total of £13.48 (ridiculous decision), but better than nothing, I guess.
I've also had a little bet on Gerry at 66/1. Can't be arsed to give full reasons except to say he has a reasonable chance of getting enough nominations (same candidates as for Ziggy) and is sure to give good interview, which will please Endemol.

Is This Tonight's Mystery Woman?

The latest rumour is that the mystery woman will be Thaila Zucchi who played 'The Bunny Boiler' in the Channel 4 Comedy series 'Balls of Steel'

Could be a load of balls, but here she is anyway -

Could be fun.

New 'Female' HM going in Tonight.

According to the furry fellow (though I've been told it could be woman. How do you sex a ferret?) there's a new female HM going into the Big Brother House tonight, though she's not all she seems.
Interesting.
Tracey's more masculine sister maybe. Who knows, but the show certainly needs some new blood

Laura and Chanelle Up for Eviction

All the signs are that it's Laura v Chanelle up for eviction this week. From two good forum sources and special bets have already started a new poll claiming they are up. Though I'm not sure how good a source they are after the Aisleyne fiasco last year.

It's looking good for anyone who took the 20/1

Sunday, 1 July 2007

4th Eviction. Laura Looks the Value

Having been installed as the early favourite. The Welsh Nanny, who seems to rarely move from her Big Brother bed is now one of the rank outsiders to win.....and at around 20/1 looks the value bet for this weeks eviction.
The question is will she be up. Well Carole votes for every week, so we know she has one vote.
As for the others I reckon Brian, Liam, Jonathan,Gerry, Ziggy and Chanelle are all possible nominators of Laura.
The other question is will Charley be up, because if she is then she goes. Except in the unlikely event that it's changed to a vote to SAVE.
So who will vote for her. Ziggy and Chanelle look certain to, but there's no other cast iron votes for her.....and as she's odds on to go, it might be worth the gamble to oppose her once again.

So at around 20/1 or better, Laura looks worth a bet.

Be warned that the market will close at 11.59pm tonight, to stop any 'insiders' betting after the nominations have taken place....and will not open again until after the nominations are announced on BBLB at 7.30pm on Tuesday.

Just found out that Paddy Power now have a market up. Not sure how long it will be up. Hopefully a little longer than Betfair. Laura is 20/1 .....link here

Highlights. Sunday 24th June

The housemates are left shocked as Seany is evicted
Ziggy and Chanelle request some alone time from Big Brother
After winning the Knobbly Knees contest, Brian and Charley are rewarded with a holiday - in a caravan in the garden.

Just a quick word on the Eviction of Seany. I have the bruises from all the poking I had to endure from some on betfair after my tip Carole unfortunately didn't come off
...but given the same vibes I was picking up on the C4 forum and the price available on Carole, I'd do the same again. Didn't come off this time, but marathon/ tortoise/ Bez, etc, etc

Carole an Outstanding Bet at 7/1

From the polls and the general feeling on the forums, I'll stick my head on the block and say Carole, the outsider of 3 with the bookies, will be evicted tonight. The momentum is with her ...and plenty of my money.

I've conducted 3 Eviction polls this week on the C4 forum after each Highlights show . Here are the results.

Tuesday.
26% Carole
30% Jonathan
45% Seany

Wednesday.
32% Carole
24% Jonathan
43% Seany

Thursday.
41% Carole
27% Jonathan
32% Seany

So why is Carole now leading my poll, when in most other polls Seany still has an 8% + lead.
Well 2 possible options.
The most likely is that opinion has changed. Carole has been a misery all week and been shown as such on the Highlights show every night since Tuesday.
Seany however has developed a cult like status amongst forum members and hopefully viewers too.
This is probably down to him gently pushing Big Brother Baddie, Charley, into the pool at the very end of last nights show.
I'm also of the strong opinion that the Producers would prefer to save Seany ahead of Carole.
He brings much more to the show, which in turn leads to an all important increase in the ratings.
It's always good to have the Production team on your side in these close eviction battles.

The other option is that my poll has been manipulated by 'evil ner' do well's' from the betfair forum, where I regularly post.
Well done and good work lads if you have, but I doubt it. Poke me with a virtual stick and laugh at me if I'm wrong.

So I'd suggest you have a nice bet on Carole to leave tonight. 7/1 with Paddy Power. Slightly better odds on betfair

Eviction Update

It looks a real 3 way battle this week, looking at the latest polls.

DS latest.

Carole 33% (165)
Jonathan 25.4% (127)
Seany 41.6% (208)

(500 votes so far)

C4 Poll (post highlights)

Carole 26% (67)
Jonathan 30% (77)
Seany 44% (115)

(259 votes counted so far)

Seany still a worthy favourite to go..........but it's surely going to be down to the next 3 highlights shows.

Lucky Escape for Charley

CAROLE, JONATHAN AND SEÁNY FACE EVICTION ON FRIDAY
Yesterday, all 15 housemates went into the Diary Room to individually nominate the two housemates they most want evicted from the house this week.
For the first time this series, all of the housemates were entitled to vote, including the four new additions Billi, Brian, Jonathan and Liam.

Carole, Jonathan and Seány received five nominations each and therefore face eviction via the public vote on Friday 22 June. Charley and Nicky both received four nominations each, Tracey received three, Liam two and Brian and Laura both received one each.

Jonathan, Carole and Seany up for Eviction

According to the furry guy on the DS forum.

Looks like Jonathan could be a goner.

Update -

Eviction Poll on C4 forum suggests Seany will go.

59% seany, 24% Carole , 17 % Jonathan

That will take alot of turning round.

2nd Eviction.

Charley is odds on yet again to go this week.
With all the HM's in the Big Brother house nominating this week she is more likely to be up, but I'd still suggest laying her on betfair if she drops below 1.8.

Of the others I reckon Laura could be in danger and Ziggy and Chanelle.
If I didn't have the feeling that the Producers wanted to keep the latter two in to see how their 'relationship' pans out then I'd certainly suggest a nice bet on both of them.

Full odds here

With Laura only around 8/1 and Ziggy 16/1, it could be worth a small bet on Chanelle at 33/1 just for the hell of it. (over 40/1 on betfair)
An outside chance of going, but not impossible.

Early Thoughts on the New Men

Biographies here

Billi - Bit or a girly type guy. Even has a girly name, Billi with an 'i'. What's that all about?
Could be more arguments over the tongs and make-up, me thinks
25/1 no-hoper

Brian - Seems like 'Frank Brunos' slightly smarter, younger brother and we all know how loved Frank was by the British Public. First impressions are positive , but his Mum saying he has tantrums if he doesn't get his own way sends the alarm bells ringing in my head.
10/1 , seems too short at this stage.

Liam - Down to earth, boy next door, good looking, relatively smart and articulate, northern lad with a hint of shyness about him. Ticks every box on first look. Teenage girls and their Mums will love him. Certainly comes across as more likeable at this early stage than previous Northern lad, boy nextdoor winner in Anthony.
7/1 Looks a reasonable bet at the odds.

Jonathan - Much less arrogant and likeable than I thought he would be. Quite sharp and witty at times. Bit of a poor mans Lesley (what a star) . Surely the millionaire thing will be a severe negative against him, but could be worth a small bet on betfair at the price with the hope of trading out at a lower price
33/1

Overall Liam looks a potential winner to me. He's big enough character to pick up enough votes in the final vote without being one of the really 'big characters' .
The 'big characters' tend to have too many negatives on top of the positives, to survive until the final vote and are kicked out when the public get the opportunity to do so.

Of the front runners, Zippy. Chanelle, Gerry and Seany all fall in to this category.

Leaving one of Liam or Tracey looking the most likely winners to me at the moment.

Eviction Night.... atlast

All looks set for the 1st Eviction from the Big Brother house actually happening tonight and hopefully a nice pay out from the bookies for those who backed Shabby to go and laid Charley at odds on.

This won't be Shabbys first eviction though.
She also auditioned for ITV's 'Britains Got Talent' . Unfortunately shabby showed very little and was 'evicted' immediately.

'Warning. This Video contains images of Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan that some viewers may find disturbing'

Great moves Shabbs

Four New Men ?

There's a strong rumour that four men will enter the Big Brother house tomorrow.

Not keen on the hair.

Details here

Could really shake up the house and the betting.

Thanks Kitten. Extra sardines for you tonight

.

Shabby by a Mile.

Looks like we might at last have the First Eviction tomorrow.

All the polls suggest that Shabnam will go. Currently polling between 60 and 80%.

No wonder the Bookies have her at 1/33.

Hope some people backed her at the 4/1 on offer earlier and also layed Charley at odds on, on the exchanges.

Just a pity Emily was ejected and Nicky escaped nomination.

Wednesday, 13 June 2007

It's Wednesday. It must be Poll Day

I've decided that every Wednesday I'll take a look at a few polls.
As Peter Snow always says on Election nights, 'It's just a bit of fun', but hopefully it will give a rough gauge of public opinion, or more correctly internet Big Brother junkie opinion.

The 3 polls I've gone for are one I did myself on the C4 forum on Sunday and Monday, The Tvpolls survey and the one on Digital Spy

I put the Twins as one choice as God knows which ones which.

First, Second, Third

C4 Forum

The Twins 19%
Carole 5%
Chanelle 26%
Charley 3%
Gerry 6%
Laura 3%
Nicky 4%
Seany 0 %
Shabby 4%

Tracey 18%
Zippy 12 %

248 votes

TV polls

The Twins 9%
Carole 9%
Chanelle 19%
Charley 2%
Gerry 7%
Laura 13%
Nicky 3%
Seany 4%
Shabby 2%

Tracey 22%
Zippy 10%

180 votes

DS Poll

The Twins 12%
Carole 6%
Chanelle 17%
Charley 5%
Gerry 14%
Laura 3%
Seany 2%
Shabby 5%

Tracey 13 %
Zippy 12%

Votes 1402

So 2 of the top 3 in the betting , Tracey and Chanelle, are doing well in all 3 polls.
Latest betting here
Gerry is only really showing up well in the DS poll, but it's early days for him and I could see it swinging either way for him, no pun intended after his comments about wanting to bed Ziggy and The Twins.
He's obviously an intelligent, socialable guy, but a bit too much of a gameplayer for me. The viewers will start to see this in the weeks to come and in general those who are seen as 'players' tend to come to a sticky end on these shows. No pun intended, again

Nominations

It looks like it's Shabby v Carole v Tracey, up for eviction...... from a very good source

Sunday, 10 June 2007

First Eviction Update (Part 27)

Gerry and Seany have made they're decision and have plumped for the vacuous twins to nominate with them.

Looks good for the bet on Nicky as there's a strong chance that they'll both nominate her

First Eviction Update (Part 10)

After detailing why I thought Nicky would be up and who would nominate her, Big Brother in it's wisdom decides to have yet another nominations twist. Yawn, Yawn.
What the hell was wrong with the old method. Certainly the overwhelming majority of posts on the forums are in favour of having the normal nomination method of each HM choosing 2 names.

But no, Gerry and Seany will pick 2 others HM's to nominate with them and they will be the only 4 allowed to nominate this week.
It's not yet clear whether the 4 will nominate as a group or as individuals.
Gerry and Seany are making their choices of who will also nominate this week now.

My tip, Nicky is around 8/1 now and I still feel she has a good chance of going

Further update to follow, no doubt

Two New Men. Lesley Walks

So after Emily being removed and denying us the opportunity of a nice pay day, Lesley walks out with our money in her back pocket and leaving the show much diminished in terms of entertainment.

When it comes to making money on these shows, you have to look at it as a marathon, not a sprint, the tortoise, not the hare, bez, not kenzie. So keep the faith.

On to the other main development in the house. The arrival of Spiral with a wig and the sex obsessed Gerry. He could make Leah look like Mary Poppins.

Full Biographies here

If attending the Micheal Jackson trial to offer his support is not reason enough to not back him, he also thought it would be a great laugh to pull the duvet off lesley while she was asleep at 4am in the morning. Complete twit. Currently 25/1.

Gerry seems rather more interesting but has a tendency to turn every conversation into one about sex. I reckon the viewers and fellow Big Brother HM's will find this as tiresome as they did with leah last year. Currently 9/1.

I'm happy to stick with Tracey for now, unless and until someone better enters the house.
She's not a self obsessed, vain, argumentative, lazy, brain dead wannabe type, like most of them in there, but is level headed, laid back and knows how to clean a mug and make a bed.

Now around 8/1.

Just a quick word on laura. Having initially looked like a down to earth, likeable type, similar to past winners of Big Brother, She is now coming across as a rather lazy, misery guts and has drifted badly in the betting because of this.
She's also now polling very poorly in most of the main polls having been a clear leader in the 1st week.
Best to cut your losses and and lay her off, if you have backed her and re-assess the situation later.

Full details on betting on the exchanges, including laying here

Lesley Threatening to Walk

Just been announced on BBLB that Lesley was in the Diary Room today asking to leave.
They've asked her to sleep on it and see how she feels tomorrow. Hopefully for our bet and for the sake of the show she'll stay the course, but probably best not back her, if you haven't already, until things become clearer.

First Eviction. Second Time Around.

It's time to take a look at who's likely to be packing their bags next Friday, after the cancellation of tonight's Eviction due to Emily being thrown out and with it our chance to land a nice gamble.

If you took the 4/1 on Shabby. then that's still looking OK. Now around 2/1, but are there any other stand out bets.
Well the one for me is Nicky at 18/1 , currently available at Paddy Power

Although she's not one of my least favourite HM's in the Big Brother house she seems very likely to be up for eviction next week from what I've seen.
She's very confrontational, not in an aggressive and slightly mad way, as with Charley, but she's certainly made plenty on enemies in the house.
She had a large falling out with Zippy last night over a glass of beer which will undoubtedly feature on tonight's highlights package.
As Zippy and Chanelle are an 'item' now, I suspect that's two votes.
I could also see the Twins both nominating her, they seem to have very little to do with her from my observations and the two older HM's in Carole and Lesley are also probable nominators
As well as being confrontational, Nicky also likes to be in control and take charge. This will surely cause friction between herself and Carole and Lesley.

I also reckon Chanelle and or Zippy have a good chance of being up next week, but at the prices Nicky looks the bet

Two More Go In Tonight

Channel 4 have released teasers of the new male housemates...

- One of the two housemates is teetotal

- One visited Hilary Clinton at the White house and wrote her a poem.

The two boys will enter the house tonight at 10:30pm

Thursday, 7 June 2007

Emily Gone ?

Looks like Emily has left the Big Brother house. She was called to the DR at just after 3am last night and has yet to emerge.

The eviction vote has now been suspended

Wednesday, 6 June 2007

Lesley Starting to Impress

I've re-assessed my opinion of Lesley. Having thought she was too old and lacked the warmth to go very far in this years Big Brother house, to my great surprise I'm beginning to really like her and she now looks worth a small bet at around 28/1. (Best price at betfair)
She's clearly the most intelligent HM (not saying a lot) and has a sharp wit. This was fully on show in last nights highlights.
She seems to have a lot more going for her than Carole and is three times the price.

An update on the other two recommendations, Tracey and Laura.

Still very happy with Tracey, but I'm starting to have concerns about whether Laura has enough to win and I wouldn't advice backing her if you haven't already (can't win them all, although she's not a no-hoper)

Bad Show for Emily

Tonights show dosen't look good for Emily

Spoiler Here

Emily v Shabnam

Quite a result for us at 10.15 this morning when the nominations were announced.
Full story here

So who's the most likely to go. All the polls on the 4 main forums show Shabby leading

The largest lead is on the DS poll. 64% to 36%

Much Closer on a GBBF poll. 55% to 45%

The latest betting is -
Shabby 1/2 fav
Emily 2/1

(correct at 4.46pm )

If you haven't already had a bet I'd be tempted to advice a bet on Emily at the prices. The polls are by no means conclusive and it looks all down to who gets the best/worst edit in the 3 highlights shows to come.
For me they are both pretty unpleasant HM's, but Emily is in your face unpleasant, while Shabby , though clearly self obsessed and delusional, isn't confrontational.

....but who do Endemol want to stay. I'd say it's more likely that they'd want to keep Emily, precisely because she is more confrontational.

Therefore, sit tight, for now

Eviction Bets Running Total

1st Eviction. Emily - Lost 18/1 -£10
1st Eviction, Shabnam - Won 4/1 +£30
2ndEviction Carole - Lost 7/1 +£20
4th Eviction Laura - Won 20/1 + £220

Tong-gate

With Zippy about to make his nominations as I write this, hopefully we'll be sitting pretty when they're announced
It looks a distinct possibility that Emily could now be put up as well as Shabby. See previous post.
Having fallen for the obvious charms of Chanelle. Will he now do the honourable thing and nominate her main adversary after last nights falling out between her and Emily over a pair of hair tongs............story here

Lets hope so

Monday, 4 June 2007

Quick Update on 1st Eviction

Still not giving up hope on Emily to be first evictee, but feel that 4/1 Shabber (Shabnam) is too good to miss.
She was the only HM that Ziggy didn't have a good word to say about during his 'dinner dates' lastnight and dropped a large hint during his dinner with Laura that Shabber was top of his nomination list...story here
He even said to atleast two of the HM's how 'great' Charley was and that she needed to be given a chance.
He'll also be aware that Shabber will take being nominated much better than the seriously unstable Charley.
Take the 4/1 on offer at Paddy Power

What a Charley

After another long night of watching Big Brother livefeed my opinions haven't really altered on any of the HM's. They've just been confirmed.
Charley is clearly in the process of becoming one of the biggest hate figures in the history of Big Brother

What's even worse, she's so self obsessed that she appears to be totally unaware of this.
You would have thought the booing she received on the way in might have given her a clue that the arrogant and aggressive attitude she showed in her audition video, hadn't gone down to well.

How did she pass the psychological tests?
So we had another night of Charley wanting to take on all comers. I have no idea what sparked all this. Pretty sure she dosen't either.
Anyway what it means is she's a short price favourite at around evens to be the first evictee (see betfair odds below).

Although obviously a worthy favourite I'd suggests laying her if she drops much below evens.

1. Pretty obvious point, but she hasn't been nominated yet.
It's no certainty that Ziggy will put her up. Would you ?. ..then have to live with her for 3 days. Scary thought just watching. How would you feel if you were in there.

2. She's clearly verging on the edge of insanity. Could she be taken out for her own safety or the safety of others.
She could easily flip and attack someone.

3. She is nominated and walks/storms out. Another Leo Sayer, bashing her way out scenario.

More about laying for the novices, in a betting sense,.....and general information about betting on the the Exchanges later.

The Morning after the night before

So what's the fall-out after the two main developments lastnight.
Ziggy entering the house (videos below) and 'foodgate'

Ziggy -

Well on the betting front Ziggy has been made slight favourite to win at around 6/1 ......latest odds

He seems a well brought up, polite and sociable young man. Dosen't seem to have any obvious major character flaws. I'm sure his Mum is very proud of him...LOL
I wouldn't be in any rush to back him at the price. It's fairly easy for him at the moment.
Being the only man, there's obviously no need to compete for female attention.
Lets wait to see how he reacts when a few more guys go in.
Could he be just a little too smooth?
Generally though, first impressions are positive.

And an important piece of information which has a major infuence on the eviction market.
Ziggy will choose the two HM's up for eviction next week.

Ziggys Entrance, so to speak

'Foodgate' -
As expected, maybe a little earlier than I thought, the dreadful charley totally lost it lastnight over a minor disagreement about food. Full story here

Surely this means curtains for Charley, IF Ziggy puts her up for the public vote this week.
This is reflecting in the eviction market, with Charley a strong favourite at 13/8 to go.....latest odds
We're possibly clasping at straws abit with our bet on Emily to be first out, but all is not lost.
Emily was pretty transparent in her attempts to 'endear' herself to Ziggy, as soon as he entered the house.
This obviously failed as he's taken an immediate shine to wannabe Posh Spice, Chanelle...story here ..so there's still a small hope that he could put Posh Bird up for eviction and sneak off to make sweet music with 'Posh Spice'

Quickly back to the whole 'foodgate' shenanigans. Nicky has emerged extremely well out of the whole saga. There's nothing the BB forum regulars like more than a woman who stands up to a 'bully'.
Aisleyne and Seezer. Aislyene and Grace.
This is reflected in her price this morning and she's been the best backed overnight. Now around 14/1

Further updates this time tomorrow................if not sooner

Friday, 1 June 2007

One Guy going in tonight.

Seems they'll be one guy going into the house tonight and NO eviction
This comes from the same source that 1st confirmed that it would be only women going into the house on the launch night.
There were plans to evict one of the women tonight, but they have been shelved.

Another reliable source on the forums confirms the Sun story that it will be this guy..........click here

On the subject of an eviction, I'd suggest a bet on Emily being the 1st person evicted. It's always abit dodgy backing on eviction markets before the nominations are announced, but it means you do get better odds.
A small bet on Emily at 18/1 could look very good this time next week.....or whenever the 1st eviction occurs.
Ist Eviction odds here
She seems to be in the same mould as Grace. Snobby, bitchy and generally has an over-inflated view of herself.

Also on the betting theme. With plenty more men sure to follow the one tonight..and surely no more women... it could be worth having a small bet on a male winner to cover your stake. Assuming you followed my advice and have backed Laura and Tracey to win.

Early Thoughts

Having watched the opening show and a fair bit of live feed it's easiest to start off by considering who can't win.

1. The Awful Pink Twins (Amanda and Sam) - Immature, fluffy, shallow, hyper, irritating squealing voices. They'll drive their fellow HM's and viewers crazy. They're already doing my head in. Absolutely no chance of winning.
Currently both about 25/1. Should be 100/1 +

2.Charley - Not only booed on the way in (as the 'lovely' leah from BB7 was so keen to tell us over and over again happened to her) ...but also crys of 'Out!, Out!, Out! '. Surely a 1st.
She just comes across as obnoxious.I'm sure somebody loves her, but I'd bet my Grannies savings that she won't be there on finals night.
Could make Grace from BB7 look like Snow White
Currently 50/1. Should be 1000/1

3.Shabnam - Reminds me of a female version of Shahbaz. Seriously insecure and needy. Not comfortable in her skin and the fact that she seems to be 'clinging' to Charley can only add to her problems.
Currently 33/1.

4.Emily - Way too posh and full of herself to appeal to your average viewer.
Currently 20/1.

5. Lesley - Comes across as a rather stern and aloof headmistress type. Again can't see who'll vote for her.
Currently 28/1 .

6. Carole - Seems to get involved in 'issues' to make up for the lack of a personality. Harmless enough, but I suspect the cheers on the way in (crowd probably just got bored of booing and fancied a change) is the main reason for her being made the early favourite. Now 2nd favourite and drifting.
Currently 12/1. I fully expect her to drift further.

So that leaves Chanelle, Nicky, Laura and Tracey.

The first two look normal enough and down to earth, but possibly too dull to win.
Think they'll both survive until towards the end and will be shorter prices than they are now

Currently Nicky is 18/1 and Chanelle 22/1

Which leaves Laura and Tracey as the only two possible winners from the initial entry.

Laura is chatty and friendly without being OTT. Even tempered and down to earth. On the tubby side..... certainly not your bimbo type who other women tend not to vote for and looks a worth a bet at around 8/1

Finally Tracey.
Though it initially seemed she would be incredibly OTT and annoying, she has calmed down considerable and seems to get on well with all the other HM's , but I suspect won't be scared to have ago at the annoying ones if she needs to. This will surely earn her brownie points with the viewers and she looks the stand out bet at around 16/1.

Thursday 30th August Highlights

Day 92

10:12am - All of the housemates are asleep in the bedroom. The lights come on, and My Way is played into the house. Carole speculates that someone will be leaving tonight.
Brian asks if it's Cliff Richard singing. He then gets up and starts to dance around the bedroom singing along.
Ziggy gets up and leaps through the air as the others wave their arms along with the music.

11:04am - Amanda, Jonty, and Brian are in the bedroom. Jonty asks if Brian has seen his t-shirt with the Isle of Man flag on it. Brian says he doesn't know what the Isle of Man flag looks like, adding "I thought only countries had a flag, is the Isle of Man a country? I thought it was just like an Isle of Wight thing". Amanda asks "Is it not a country?" Brian says "It must be a country then…"
Liam is in the Diary Room. "And so, the end is near…..that's a bit of a yank on the old heartstrings". He says they all feel they've made some genuine friends in the house and that they are starting to talk about home now. "I wish I could stay here forever….I remember walking in here, but before that walking from the car in here I can't remember a thing. I try so much, I remember touching people's hands and photographers shouting me name. It was like being fired out of a canon….it's been such a roller-coaster. It's been like the best roller-coaster ever."

11:43am - In the garden Ziggy is looking at a blow-up ball from a previous task which has a globe printed on it and commenting on how small Britain is. The twins look at it and say it would take a long time to get to China. "
What about Australia?" says Liam. Amanda asks "is that near Africa?" They then look at America and Amanda says she'd love to live in America and be able to say "I'm from Miami". Jonty says he likes living in Britain, "I think Britain's cool".

12:26pm - Most of the housemates are in the garden. Jonty wonders what they'll all be doing in a week's time, then says "it would be funny if the rest of the world got so cross with us we all had to hide back in here again for another three months." He then says "Wouldn't it be weird if we were on our way out and one by one we all turned into sun-cream lotion? There'd be no point interviewing us because we wouldn't say anything because we wouldn't say much would we…?" The housemates look confused and Ziggy says "that would just be strange". "Very strange" replies Jonty. "That would just mess the whole show up".
Brian is in the Diary Room saying he's freaked out about going back to the outside world but feels he's done himself proud, and has learned to respect and listen to other people's opinions. He adds that since being in the house Liam has taught him how to shave properly, and that he wants "the twinnies" to win.

2:20pm - Most of the housemates are in the garden. The twins are in the pool. Ziggy and Carole are talking in the kitchen talking about how they got involved in arguments while in the house, but feel they always stood up for people and spoke their minds. They then talk about Ziggy's relationship with Chanelle and Ziggy says he has been an idiot but that "every bloke I know is useless at relationships , just like myself, I'm absolutely crap at them….when Gerry releases his book about men and relationships I'll be the first one to get it".

3:19pm - The housemates are gathered on the sofas where Jonty is reading out instructing for the day's task. Big Brother is having a break and the housemates must decide who should take over and be Big Brother for the day. They are given £100 and takeaway menus to order their own dinner. Jonty indicates he would like to do it and the others agree he can. Ziggy opens the envelope to see the £100 and they all stare and touch it as they haven't seen real money in months. "
Big Jonty" is called to the Diary Room and Big Brother explains to him how to be Big Brother.

3:54pm - Most of the housemates are in the garden when they hear Big Jonty request all housemates to wear their microphones and have them positioned correctly. Everyone laughs. The twins, Liam and Ziggy compare leaving the house to coming home from a holiday, saying Davina is like passport control and their interviews are like they have lost luggage and need to talk to someone about it. Liam adds that they will also have "the best holiday video ever".

4:10pm - Brian, Amanda, Sam, Ziggy and Liam are in the garden. Liam and the twins talk about when they first met, when Liam was chucking them around. Sam says "Cheesy McSqueezy". Big Jonty is called to the vestibule where he must come in order to conduct a Diary Room with any of the housemates.
He calls Ziggy to the Diary Room and says that as Ziggy's been in the garden lying on plastic grass would he like to change his name to "Plastic Grass". Ziggy isn't keen. He asks whether Big Jonty would like to know how he's coping. Big Jonty asks "how are you coping?". "It's none of your business" says Ziggy.

4:30pm - Carole is cleaning with gloves on. Most of the housemates are in the garden.Big Jonty has called Sam and Amanda to the Diary Room. The twins request music and a party from Big Jonty. The girls list Barbie Girl, Buttons and Umbrella as their most wanted tracks and Big Jonty notes their request. The girls are pleased and sing, "Go Jonty go go go".
In the garden everyone jumps up and dances as they hear Barbie Girl play into the house. As Carole cleans in the bedroom, she notices the music and looks out to the garden. Everyone continues to dance in the garden. Carole looks at everyone and smiles as she gets back to the cleaning.

5:33pm - Carole is in the Diary Room talking to Big Jonty. She thanks Big Jonty and Big Brother for her experience in the house.
Ziggy and Liam are at the sofas. The two talk about gaining notoriety after they leave the house. Ziggy says he will jump over the mangle before he leaves the house.

5.49pm - Ziggy, Carole and Liam are in the living area, where Carole says, "I need to do my foot tonight".
Jonty, Amanda and Brian are in the garden where they hear "Brian to win" shouted over the fence. Brian looks at Amanda and says, "You deserve to win". Brian then asks Amanda to feel his beating heart, she says, "Oh my god". Amanda says, "On Saturday we'll be free" and Brian replies "pukka".

6.51pm - Liam, Sam and Amanda are in the bathroom. The twins throw cold water over Liam while he sits in the shower. Jonty has been called to the Diary Room where he thanks Big Brother for letting step into Big Brother's shoes, saying "it was most amusing, thankyou".
Brian and Carole are in the garden saying it's nice for Jonty to be Big Jonty because he's not been in the house as long and needs more experiences to remember.

8.40pm - In the living area Liam tells everyone his home will always be where his family is and the housemates all dicuss how they've felt at home in the Big Brother house. At the smoking area, Brian lights a cigarette. He is startled as The Klaxons Golden Skans blasts into the house and Brian runs into the house to dance with everyone.

10.41pm - Brian, Carole, Jonty, Amanda and Sam are on the sofas. Sam says none of them have any idea who will win, so there's no point guessing, and Brian adds that he feels that they are all winners. Ziggy and Liam are at the smoking area talking about Chanelle. Ziggy confesses that he felt paranoid about Chanelle flirting with the boys in the house. He says he thought she was flirting with Liam but knows that they were just being friendly and there wasn't anything more in it. Ziggy tells Liam that Carole kept telling him things about Chanelle that made him question their relationship and says he feels Carole stirred up trouble between him and Chanelle.

12.25am - Jonty is in the Diary Room and is giggling. He is holding some sticky sweets in his hand and says "Look at all this mess!" He then laughs uncontrollably, every time he tries to talk he just laughs.
In the garden, Brian and Amanda are under a duvet looking at the moon. Brian says "That's the same moon that all my family and friends are looking at". He then says "Do you know the moon is apparently bigger than the universe" and Amanda replies "What's the universe?" Brian says "The stuff that we're all in apparently". Amanda again says "what's the universe?" and Brian replies "I'm not too sure". Amanda whispers to Brian "I just don't want people to think I don't know what the universe is - cringe!"Brian then says that he's into cosmic ordering and asks Amanda if she watches Deal or No Deal as Noel Edmonds is also into cosmic ordering. Brian says he "asked the universe" to meet a great girl, get a job and have a great adventure, and he got all three. "Three out of three's not bad for a good summer"

1.06am - Most of the housemates are in the garden. Ziggy is in the bedroom. In the garden everyone lies under looking at the sky and talking. Jonty breaks wind and they all scream and laugh.

All Women 1st Night

Looks certain that tonights initial intake of HM will all be female.
A show 'insider' who posts on a BB forum and is yet to be wrong, has posted this in the last hour.
Rumour has it that the men go in on friday.

Some punters did manage to back a woman being the first through the door at 5/6 . Unfortunately I wasn't one. Bookmakers are no longer taking bets on the gender of the first person to enter the house

10 hours and counting

The main betting before the show has even begun is on the gender of the winner

Fixed odds Bookmakers

Male 8/11 fav

Female 11/10

Transexual 18/1

Best prices availabe as of 3.00 pm 30/05/07

http://www.oddschecker.com/specials/big-brother/big-brother-8/gender-of-winner

Betfair.com

Male 1.8

Female 2.2

See 'Duffers guide' to explain any terms you are unsure about

Just a note. Only 2 bookies are giving odds on a transexual winner. Most, as in BB5,with Nadia, will pay out on the gender they are now.

With 5 male winners and 2 female winners, a male winner looks a good bet at 8/11 ......but with females winning the last 2 series of Celebrity BB and a female winner of the X-factor this year, I'd be reluctant to get involved at the price.
It's also interesting that for the 1st time this year a black woman, in X-factor, and an Asian woman in CBB have shown that non-white contestants can win Reality TV shows.

So I'd suggest No Bet. Wait til we see their ugly mugs

Duffers Guide to Betting

1. Bookmakers.
The most popular and simplest way of placing a bet is with one of the fixed odds bookmakers. These are the names that I'm sure most people have heard of . Ladrokes, William Hill, Corals and Paddy Power, being the most well known.
The prices offered by these bookmakers generally only change once or twice a day. If at all
The second type of 'bookmakers' are the betting exchanges, the most well known and biggest being
betfair.com . These exchanges act much like the stock market, with the prices offered changing in real time. Often every second or so. With betting exchanges you can also be the bookmaker and take other peoples bets, also known as laying. More about this later.

2. Odds
There a 2 ways of expressing odds. Either fractional or decimal. Most Bookmakers use fractional, but the betting exchanges use the decimal method

Fractional Odds - Well if you remember your fractions from school then you're virtually there.
In very simple terms you have to put on the 2nd number to win the 1st.
Some examples- 2/1 . Place a bet of £1 and you win £2 plus your £1 back. So you'll receive £3....or £2.50 on at 2/1 and you'll win £5 plus your stake back. Return of £7.50.
A slightly trickier example, 4/6. You have to put on £6 to win £4 plus your £6 back, giving you a return of £10......or £10 on at 4/6 would give you winnings of £6.67 plus your stake back. A return of £16.67.

Decimal Odds - Betting exchanges and some fixed odds bookmakers use this method.
Basically all you do is multiply your stake by the number quoted to work out the money you get back
So if you had a bet of £4 at 3.2 (4 x 3.2 =12.8) a return of £12.80. Note that this includes the return of your stake.
In the 2nd example above,4/6 would be expressed as 1.67 under the decimal method

3. Betting on the exchanges.
Rather than me trying to explain it, a full explanation is here
Including the mysterious art of laying

Week 1 Elimination

Brian and Kenny were still the bottom two after the public vote and Brian went.
